WHAT WE DO

SFA provides unique networking opportunities for the main players in the global fresh fruit trade, as well as a platform for learning and information sharing. Through SFA’s regular newsletters, members are updated and work together on defining topics for the industry such as sustainability, food safety and market access in an ever-changing trade environment. In addition, members participate free-of-cost in the alliance’s various webinars, which may cover topics as varied as the use of bioinputs in fruit production or evolving legislative requirements regarding plastic packaging in the main destination markets for fruit exported from the Southern Hemisphere.

SFA operates through a number of standing working groups, including inter alia on sustainability, logistics, statistics and market access, where members meet regularly – online and/or in person – to discuss those issues that are most relevant to them.

More about our Working Groups

In addition, the SFA members share statistical information on weekly and annual exports of fruits from their countries. These statistics are also brought together in Annual Statistical Yearbook on the production and exports of fresh fruits from the Southern Hemisphere, which is available freely to all.
